St A's Youth - StAY

StAY is the youth group at St Andrew's Street Baptist Church for Year 7-13s. Our aim is to follow Jesus, learn from the Bible  and have a load of fun at the same time!

The Youth group continued to meet on zoom during the pandemic. From Friday 10th September, the Friday night Youth Group is re-starting in person at the church, 7 to 830pm for all secondary school and 6th form students.   Please contacted youth@stasbaptist.org to contact Jack and Rosie for more information.

Usually, we meet at 10.45am on Sunday mornings, starting in the main service with the rest of the church. After 20 minutes we go up to the Attic at St A's for some games, refreshments, and some teaching meant particularly for young people.

We also meet together on Friday evenings during term time. From 7.00-8.30 the activities are aimed at young people in years 7-11 and older youth are encouraged to come and take on more of a leadership role. They include wide games in the hall and a tuck shop. From 8.30-9.30 we have a gathering for Sixth Formers & those on a Gap Year. This is a time to hang out together, encourage each other and discuss important life questions with a christian focus.

Rosie and Jack head up the youth leadership team. They got married in 2014 and have been volunteering with the youth group for several years. Jack is an Architect and Rosie works for the NHS. There are several other leaders who help out on a regular basis, but you'll have to come along to meet them all!  Our leaders are all DBS checked and have safeguarding training; our safeguarding policy can be found here.

The youth group runs many special events throughout the year including weekends away, Easter Fun days, film nights and a big city-wide Christmas Party.  If you'd like to find out more, please do contact the church office or speak to Rosie or Jack on a Sunday.
